Most of the work happens out in the real world between sessions, not drilling flashcards at a desk. It's slower to feel like "progress" in the traditional sense, and faster to feel like actual fluency.

Yes — this isn't a beginner program. You should already be able to read and follow along in French, even if speaking it out loud is where things fall apart. If you're starting from zero, you'll get more out of building a base first.
